WEEK ONE ROUNDUP

So, we are at the end of week 1. How are the hms doing?

ALEXANDRA (Alex)
This hm has done herself no favours at all this week. She has yelled, screamed, frowned, and bullied. She keeps telling us how hard she's had it. Not that hard if, as she also told us, she went to private school. I think she views herself as a really gangsta-girl and the other hms are just there to be bullied into submission by her. Conversely on the couple of occasions she has shown her better side, she shows us she could actually be quite likeable ~ if only she'd get over herself!

DALE
Who?

DARNELL
Talks a lot of sense and has a dry sense of humour, which I like. He seems pleasant but is finding some of the hms difficult to deal with and could be our first 'walker' if things don't improve. He handled Anti-Jen's attack on him very well and although obviously infuriated, argued evenly and without need to get nasty.

DENNIS
Going down a little in my estimations but still funny to watch. When he deliberately gave the hms an electric shock during Task 2 part 2 was classic and gave us some of the funniest moments so far. You can watch their reactions on youtube. He showed great endurance in part 1 of the task where he lasted longest along with Rachel. Could be a contender but needs to sort himself out a bit.

JENNIFER (Anti-Jen)
How can one girl at only 22 years of age have so much to complain about? She has a constant frown and moans nearly 24 hours a day. She is against so many things I am re-naming her Anti-Jen. Looks like she could have the first romance of this year, though she denies it (so far). Dale (who?) is constantly buzzing around her and they talk endlessly. Mostly drivel, but they seem to enjoy each others drivel, live and let live.


KATHREYA (Kat)
Love her. She is kind and caring and very sensitive to others. Granted she could become annoying if one had to live with her round the clock but she has given us some great moments during the show so far. Her joy at learning new words and her resultant pronunciation of them is brilliant. And her addoration of cookies is very funny, she has even taken to savouring invisible cookies coz her cookie jar is now empty. Brilliant. Bound to end up in the final 3.

LISA
Not nice and very false. Her 'adoration' of the oracle, Mario, is just nauseating to watch. And as for her extended massaging of 'Mario's' buttocks ~ that was vomit tv at its very best! Another thing, who in their right mind applies make-up BEFORE having a bath. Bet she's one of those women who swim around the pool on holiday with their heads held above the water incase their 'do' gets ruined. She's probably not real, just a robotic woman placed in the house to annoy our eyes.

LUKE
A real politician in the making. Runs from one group to the other and being friends with both while dissing them behind their backs. His voice is SO annoying ~ he sounds like George Formby on helium. Although I did laugh at a conversation he had with Kat:

Luke: My sister is obsessed with PaWis Hilton. So we have a hampster called Pawis.

Kat: Weally?

Overall though he is just an annoying little gimp ~ you know when a fly appears and buzzes annoyingly around and no matter how many times you swat it you just can't kill it? Well times that by about 20 and that's Luke. You lose the will to live when he talks and talks and talks and talks and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

MARIO
A thick, ignorant know-it-all. Vile. He is a controlling, bullying freak and his choice in underwear is seriously dodgy. And he could bore for Britain ~ he has not stopped droning on about his hate for Steph (hell hath no fury like an control freak scorned) and 'health & safety', a subject Lisa assures us he is well trained in. So well trained in fact that he was able to inform us that a kitchen is a hazardous place. Added to that, he is a complete fantasist. During a conversation with Mikey he was telling him he had been in the army (turns out it was the TAs but what the heck). Mikey asked if he'd see active service and 'Mario' tells him that he was in the army during the first gulf war and he'd been newly married with 2 young kids and hadn't been able to take up arms (or words to that effect). The first gulf war was around 1991. Mario's 2 kids are 8 and 10. Do the maths.

MICHAEL (Mickey)
If Mario would bog off and leave the chap alone we might get to know him better. Still not sure how I feel about Mikey but I think I like him ~ and if we get rid of Mario this week then we'll all get to see a bit of Mikey.

MOHAMED (Mo)
A bit wishy washy so far. I had thought, given that he works as a toy demonstrator, he'd be a bit of fun but he has lacked a bit in the entertainment department. Maybe he's a late bloomer? Have to wait and see.

RACHEL
Love her. She is a total trooper and is such an 'up' person. Her determination to win Task 2 was amazing and her endurance showed what a strong person she is. She is intelligent and sensitive and a total star. Possible winner of BB9.

REBECCA (Bex)
Good grief! Those boobies should come with a government health warning. She is permanently on the brink of unleashing them and nearly emptied the water out of the pool on the night she leapt in with them flying above her. Her penchant for showing them off aside, she seems like a good girl. A bit dense sometimes but basically good. Hasn't really come into her own as yet as she is a bit overwhelmed by some of the stronger hms but she may come to the fore later.

REX
Started off not liking him too much but I'm changing my mind now. He is the only one so far who has stood up to Alex ~ and without any shouting. But I seriously doubt his cheffing skills. Being executive chef in 2 of daddy's (very posh) London restaurants does not mean you are a chef. And his cooking skills in the BB house so far have extended to boiling rice or pasta and opening cans. And is there a little love going to happen between him and Steph?

STEPHANIE (Steph)
Another of the favourites to go tonight. Which is a shame because she has shown some backbone in the house, not to mention she too finds Mario totally revolting. I don't know why she is hiding the fact that she obviously knows Dale (who?). Maybe they went together at one time? Who knows. Very pretty girl when all made up (and had way and above the most fabulous shoes entering the house!) and no doubt even if she goes tonight, we'll be seeing her in magazines for months to come. Just please, don't let her stoop to Nuts or whatever.

SYLVIA
Fabulous looking girl who seems fairly smart except for a couple of things. She is allowing herself to be used as Alex's side kick ~ being a side kick to anyone is never good, and the other, her ott attacking of Mikey during Knickergate was totally unwaranted. She needs to establish herself as Sylvia and quit being an appendage to the house bully. Obviously smart and has seen very bad times having escaped to Britain from Sierra Leone ~ her telling of the soldiers coming in and asking the children if they wanted long sleeves or short sleeves and the kids thinking the soldiers were bringing new clothes whereas they were actually just running a sick joke to find out where they would chop off their arms, was terrifying and heartbreaking. Could end up in the final 5 if not the final 3.
